Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig have plans to star in a television program in the coming months, but it won't feature a cold opening that ends with the words "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!"
Contrarily, the SNL alums secretly made a Lifetime movie that is airing this summer. And yes, the movie makes fun of the average Lifetime movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"A Deadly Adoption" is a fake thriller about a married couple (Ferrell and Wiig) that lives and takes care of a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) in hopes of keeping her unborn child. You don't need to have a big imagination to think of what can go wrong in that situation, hence the title of movie.
With a running time of two hours, "A Deadly Adpotion" is sure to have some heavy irony and fake drama in order to satirize the kind of programs Lifetime is known for airing. The Ferrell and Wiig project commemorates 25 years since the launch of the first original Lifetime movie
As E! Online points out, this won't mark the first time Wiig has displayed her talents in a Lifetime movie. On "30 Rock," the actress portrayed Eddie Falco's character CC Cunningham in a movie on the network titled "A Dog Took My Face and Gave me a Better Face to Change the World: The Celeste Cunningham Story."
