The Walking Dead's premiered the first footage from season four this Friday to a packed Hall H, giving fans a premiere date and a sneak peak for what's to come for the characters.
"Things are going to be way crazier; it's an escalation," comics creator Robert Kirkman told the Comic-Con crowd. The highly anticipated fourth season of the show will premiere Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
"It's been crazy. We did the first episode, I wrote it and it blew my mind," Gimple added.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gimple told the Comic-Con crowd that they shouldn't get "too comfortable" with the threat of the Governor or the walkers.
"[The characters] might get a little comfortable, but then things might get a little dangerous," Gimple said, including that there will be an "evolution" of the walkers.
Below is a description of the teaser video, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
The first footage of season four revealed that the walkers are quickly closing in on the prison, which is now employing tricks Rick picked up on from Morgan (Lennie James). Additionally, someone attacks inside the prison -- with Rick and Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) looking to find out just who's behind it. Also, comic character Bob Stokey seeks to lend a hand and earn his keep among the group.
Actor Andrew Lincoln told the crowd Rick will be in a different place when the show returns, and an explanation for the characters' return to the prison will be provided.
"We answer it this season," Lincoln told Comic-Con, adding that his relationship with son Carl (Chandler Riggs) will influence his characters decisions. "The relationship with Carl is integral to the beginning of the season from Rick. [Carl] turning into a sociopath at the end of the season woke him up to his parenting duties. You find Rick in a completely different place this season."
