Mexico, an early tournament favorite, finished second in Group A. The squad fell short of the top spot, which went to Panama. Mexico lost its opening round match to Panama, 2-1. The club bounced back the following game and dealt Canada a 2-0 loss, and then topped that performance in the group stage finale by defeating Martinique with a 3-1 victory.

Mexico continues its strong offensive play behind the efforts of Marco Fabian, LatinTimes.com reports. Fabian ranks second in the tournament in scoring with 3 goals. Mexico's offense is also supported by Raul Jimenez, Miguel Angel Ponce and Luis Montes, giving the squad the ability to score in volume.

Jonathan Orozco continues to play well for Mexico. He adds stability on defense and has given up only two goals in the tournament.

Trinidad & Tobago finished second with four points in Group B, which was won by Honduras. The team's opening match against El Salvador ended in a 2-2 draw, followed by a 0-2 loss to Haiti. Trinidad & Tobago took the second-place group spot with a 2-0 victory in the group finale against Honduras.

Kenwyne Jones leads Trinidad & Tobago with two goals in three matches. He's able to stretch the field and quickly score. Keon Daniel has given support throughout the tournament and will need to turn in another solid performance to give his team a chance against Mexico's talented defense.

Trinidad & Tobago will have its work cut out for it in the quarterfinals against Mexico, who's one of the most successful teams in Gold Cup history and on the quest for its seventh Gold Cup title.
