When a man from the United Kingdom was choking on a pickled onion last week he thought he was going to die until his dog saved him with the Heimlich maneuver.
Alan Spencer passed out after the pickled onion was stuck in his throat for three minutes. When he fell to the ground his 18-month-old labrador, Lexi, jumped on his back and performed a life-saving Heimlich maneuver.
"People will say they are only animals and don't know what they are doing, but Lexi is so clever," Spencer told Mail Online. "She saved my life most definitely. If it wasn't for her I honestly don't think I would be here. If it wasn't for her actions I would be dead - lying in that passageway dead."
