It's time! Well, almost. Kate Middleton was finally admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in West London in the early stages of labor.
"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London in the early stages of labor," People magazine reports that a Kensington Palace statement read. "The Duchess traveled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge."
By the time she arrived at the hospital at 6 a.m., with Prince William right by her side, she was already in labor with the Palace saying that it was progressing normally. Shortly after they arrived a loud clap of thunder was heard over West London, People magazine reports.
The Palace had said that Middleton's labor would be the first thing they would announce followed by the birth of the baby. After the baby arrives, a notice will be placed on a wooden easel just inside the Buckingham Palace gates. An electronic notice will also be sent out. The notice will contain the baby's sex, weight and time of birth but not the name. The most popular names for a girl has been Alexandra, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Diana and Victoria and for a boy, George and James.
It has been speculated that the Duchess will give birth to a little girl after a slip-of-the-tongue in front of the media. While accepting a gift for the baby, Middleton said: "Thank you, I'll take this for my d..."
As the birth of the royal baby inches closer everyone from celebrities to the general public are weighing in on whether Kate Middleton and Prince William will have a boy or a girl.
