Chris Brown and Drake are off the hook after a judged tossed out a lawsuit stemming from their New York City bar fight last summer. Entertainment Enterprises, the owners of Greenhouse nightclub, was suing the stars and seeking $16 million in damages, TMZ reports. Greenhouse sits adjacent to W.I.P. nightclub, where the fight took place last June.
According to Sports World News, the suit claims that there reputation damaged and the club took a financial hit after the fight because of how close the two are. Drake responded to the lawsuit with a countersuit of his own, saying that it was not fault because he couldn't control how the fight played in the media.
The judge agreed with the rapper and had the lawsuit tossed out. The judge also said that nightclub fights are not uncommon end Greenhouse can't sue every time a fight breaks out. Brown is nowhere done with his legal trouble.
Just last week California prosecutors tried to revoke his probation stemming from his conviction for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna after he was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run. If the singer is convicted he could face up to four years in jail.
In an interview with GQ, Drake talked about the fight between him and Brown saying that he was more than ready to put everything behind him.
"I don't want my name synonymous with that guy's name," Drake said in the interview never mentioning the singer's name. "I really don't. I wish we could sit down, just like you and me right now, and talk it out man-to-man. But that's not going to happen. I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down."
He said the amount of media coverage from the fight was "embarrassing" and said it "distracts from the music."
