The Kardashian Klan might need to ditch their rides.
"No Kardashian Parking Anytime" signs have been popping up in Hollywood, and one was even posted right in front of Dash, the clothing store owned by Kim K and her sisters.
Street artist Plastic Jesus has owned up and said that he is responsible for decorating the city's streets with the humorous signs, but he didn't do it to be funny.
Plastic Jesus put up 7 signs as a way to depict just how obsessed America is with its celebrity population, according to CBS News. The idea crossed his mind when he witnessed a swarm of paparazzi flock toward a Kardashian as she exited the clothing store, and he wondered how something as small as a celebrity sighting could be considered as news-worthy.
"The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture," the "Banksy of L.A." said. "We've allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions."
Regardless of artistic intent, posting the signs is considered vandalism, though a spokesperson for the LAPD said that no complaints have been filed.
"'Stop Making Stupid People Famous' often gets blogged as a criticism of the Kardashians. But that piece is also meant to criticize us as consumers. Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame," Plastic Jesus told the Hollywood Reporter.
"The same people who will tag these parking signs on social media are the same people who will buy In Touch at the supermarket later this week."
