Are Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian calling it quits on their hit reality show?
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" stars are reportedly keen to end their reign on the show, currently in its eighth season and having spawned two spin-offs, while it's still popular, 4Music reports.
The hugely succesful series follows the lives of the celebrity clan and their matriach Kris Jenner, who now has her own talk show, "Kris," though it has been met with dismal ratings so far. Nonetheless, "Kardashians" has been the "biggest reality franchise of all-time," as a source told Naughty But Nice Rob.
"Both Kim and Kris want to make sure they end on a high note, leaving fans wanting more, rather than try and stretch the show on for another few seasons and watch it die a death," said the source. "Plus, they are now moving on in their lives...exploring new options and opportunities."
Kardashian recently welcomed her new baby girl, North West, to the world, her first daughter with boyfriend Kanye West. The rapper is known for his intense dislike of the paparazzi, having gotten into several confrontations with photographers recently. He's expressed that his daughter Nori is his baby, "not America's baby," and is insistent about keeping her out of the spotlight.
Though Kardashian has reportedly agreed to the terms so far, insiders have claimed she feels frustrated and "sick of being in hiding", as she is eager to show off her adorable baby to the world.
The Kardashian clan has earned so much money from their show and subsequent projects that they never need to work again, the source explained. "They want a break from the cameras - that shouldn't be too surprising," they said.
However, it may be surprising to devoted fans of the infamous family, who are keen on following their lives every step of the way, from babies and births to all of the family and relationship drama in between. Kardashian has been vague about the future of the show, hinting on her blog that she may not be a reality star forever.
"The fact is that I have many goals that I still need to reach and accomplish and I (like so many of you) don't know where my life will be in the next couple of years, but I'm looking forward to continuing this journey," she wrote.
If Jenner and Kim Kardashian are leaving, where does that leave the rest of the family? Is there a fan favorite Scott Disick and Kourtney Kadashian spin-off in the future? And how exactly will Kim Kardashian's lifestyle change now that she's a mother, if at all?
Only time will tell, but one thing seems certain: we may not see little Nori West for a while if Kanye has anything to say about it.
