Ohio State Football Roster: Carlos Hyde Kicked Off Team for Alleged Assault on Female ; Meyer Still Investigating Roby

Carlos Hyde, the leader in touchdowns last season for Ohio State University, is no longer a Buckeye, according to the Columbus-Dispatch citing sources. Head Coach Urban Meyer has let him go.

*Update 8:35 P.M. EDT -- Hyde has now been suspended indefintely, according to ESPN.com.

"I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor," Meyer said through a news release. "There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions.

Hyde was labeled as a person of interest over the weekend in the assault of a woman in a Downtown bar.

Some scouts projected the Florida-native to be one of the best running backs in the country this season. Hyde rushed for 970 yards with 17 total touchdowns (16 rushing), according to ESPN.com. He was thirty yards short of becoming Urban Meyer’s first 1,000-yard rusher.

Hyde is not the only player with which Meyer has had issue. Monroe County court records say cornerback Bradley Roby was arrested Sunday for battery. He was asked to leave a club after a disturbance, refused and was then taken down by bouncers. Meyer is currently investigating the situation.

Roby, like Hyde, is also a highly-touted prospect. He chose to stay for his senior year at OSU instead of heading to the NFL. Some analysts projected him to become an All-American this fall and win a number of national awards.

*Update 8:35 P.M. EDT -- Roby will not be able to attend any of the Big Ten media days that are occuring this week. There may more consquences to follow as more details from the arrest unfold.

Meyer is known for having a severe policy pertaining to violence against women and has acted swiftly in the past.

Linebacker Storm Klein was kicked off the team last season shortly after an alleged physical argument with an ex-girlfriend.

He was allowed to rejoin the team after he was cleared of the charges.

There is no indication on whether Hyde will be re-instated. He has not yet been charged. The purported victim of the attack assault said she did not know her attacker but would be able to identify him if she saw him.
