Kentucky guards Aaron and Andrew Harrison reportedly plan to declare for the upcoming 2015 NBA draft. Despite the Harrison brothers' successful under coach John Calipari, it's very possible - even likely - neither brother is picked in the first round.
After two years at Kentucky, the Harrison brothers reportedly feel the time is right to depart for the pros.
"Kentucky sophomores Andrew Harrison and Aaron Harrison have decided to enter the 2015 NBA Draft and are expected to formally announce their plans soon, a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday afternoon." CBS Sports' Gary Parrish wrote Wednesday.
The two brothers have already decided on an agent, according to a report from RealGM.
Aaron and Andrew were among the five players Calipari expected to leave for the NBA. The other three Wildcats were Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein and Trey Lyles, with Calipari listing Dakari Johnson and Devin Booker as maybes.
Neither Aaron nor Andrew, according to both ESPN and DraftExpress.com, are projected to be first-round picks. Calipari, though, sounded optimistic about the chances of the two brothers going in the first round.
"I believe they will be when you get the workouts and the interviews and you see their size and their athleticism and all that - when you meet them and say, 'Those are two of the greatest kids; where did all this other stuff come from? Where's this narrative? It's not true,' " Calipari told USA Today earlier in the week. "And then I think what'll happen is they'll both be in the first round. But even if they're not, it'll be shortly thereafter. ... There's so many variables, but I would be surprised if both of them weren't first-round picks."
Aaron averaged 11.0 points and 1.4 assists per game this season, and Andrew averaged 9.3 points and 3.6 assists.
