It may only be 20 seconds of footage, but it's an important 20 seconds.
In all of the promotional material for Marvel's upcoming Netflix series "Daredevil" fans have yet to see the man without fear in his iconic red suit. Instead, Matt Murdock has chosen an all-black outfit that makes him look like a crime fighting ninja vigilante (believe me, that is most certainly a compliment).
But now the studios have finally unveiled the first look of Daredevil in his natural wardrobe and it is pretty awesome. Marvel studios has maintained all along that this series very much stands alone in contrast to the other properties in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is darker and grounded, aiming for gritty realism as opposed to the more lighthearted "Avengers" films. Daredevil's red suit appears to be in line with that tone.
This version of the suit looks practical and tactical, something Sterling Archer would approve of. It is a long, looooong way away from Ben Affleck's laughable skin tight costume from 2003's "Daredevil" film.
"Daredevil" will be available for binging tomorrow, April 10.
