The "American Idol" judges may have saved Qaasim Middleton, but the Twitter fans were not so forgiving. America chose to save Rayvon Owen (again!) and send Middleton packing when the two gentlemen fell into the bottom two on last night's "Idol."
"I feel good," Middleton told Headline & Global News exclusively after the show. "Something told me I wasn't supposed to win anyway."
Owen was able to breathe a sigh of relief for the second week in a row after America deemed him worthy of the Twitter save, instituted during last week's episode.
"I don't know what's going on," Owen told HNGN. "But it is kind of cool that people pulled through for me twice and aren't giving up on me."
The 23-year-old singer will need to hold on another two weeks if he wants to perform on the "American Idol Live!" tour this summer. Only the Top 5 contestants will hit the road to showcase their talents in cities like Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Nashville.
Watch HNGN's exclusive interviews with Owen and Middletown below to see how they felt about last night's decision and how Owen sees competition field now as he vies for one of those tour spots.
Next week, the remaining seven singers compete for the Top 6 by performing on the "American Classics"-themed episode, which will feature songs selected by the "Idol" viewers at home.
"American Idol" airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
