‘The Incredibles 2’ RUMORS: Brad Bird Starting to Write Script for Pixar Sequel

When you turn on the news, it's mostly just depressing stories. But when you check out entertainment news, there is a lot to smile about. Especially with this story.

"The Incredibles 2" has long been awaited by fans of the original which came out way back in 2004. Unfortunately, after over a decade of waiting some began to lose hope that it would ever happen. But then Pixar announced that the movie was in development last year, inspiriring smiles among fans both young and old(er). Although very little information has been released since then, director Brad Bird (who penned and helmed the original) threw fans a much needed bone recently.

"I'm just starting to write it, so we'll see what happens," Bird said while speaking with NPR.

Bird recently wrapped up his work on "Tomorrowland" for Disney (hitting theaters in May) so the fact that he is turning his attention to "The Incredibles" sequel is very exciting for fans. Even better, Bird has hinted over the years that he has all of the plot threads mapped out in his head already. Putting pen to paper is really just the last step.

What that plot will actually be is anyone's guess. We know that the original cast will be present along with Frozone. Other than that, not much is known about the long gestating project.

We'll keep you updated as more details about "The Incredibles 2" become available.
