Oregon Cat Shocked By Power Pole, Falls 25 Feet And Survives

A cat is miraculously alive after being shocked on a power pole and plummeting 25 feet where he landed in a brush, the pet's owners told an Oregon newspaper.

Jennifer Kagay, of Grants Pass, Oregon, says she and her husband were in bed Tuesday morning when they heard a "bang" and the power went out, The Grants Pass Daily Courier reported.

Her husband went outside to find their 17-pound Siamese cat named Liam rendered unconscious on top of a power pole's transformer.

Liam began moving, but he fell off the transformer and fell 25 feet to the ground. Thankfully, one of his claws grabbed hold of a wire and he landed safely in a brush, the newspaper reported.

The cat was taken to a veterinarian, the Kagays told the newspaper. Unfortunately, one of Liam's legs might have to be amputated, but at least he still has a few cat lives to spare.

Speaking of nine lives, a Florida feline named Bart nearly lost all of his in January when he got hit by a car and was buried by his owner who thought he was dead.

But Bart, nicknamed "zombie cat," turned up alive a few days later with severe head injuries and a broken jaw. It was later determined the cat lost consciousness from the car incident and later dug himself free.
