More than half of the British public do not want Camilla to become queen, according to the Daily Mirror. Camilla was never a winner of popularity contests, from the days of speculation that she and Charles carried on an extramarital affair behind the back of the public's Princess Diana. Interestingly, despite 55 percent of the U.K. not wanting Camilla to become queen (should Charles become king), the percentage that blamed her for the demise of the marriage between Charles and Diana has dropped. Now, 39 percent blame Charles, 13 percent blame Diana and only 12 percent blame the Duchess of Cornwall for the ending of the marriage.
Around the time of Camilla and Charles' wedding, 73 percent opposed her becoming queen. According to the Daily Mirror, 15 percent of those polled now say the marriage between Charles and Camilla has actually strengthened the royal family.
The coolest royals in the eyes of the public are still Prince William and Prince Harry, followed by Queen Elizabeth II and Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.
