Anthony Weiner: More Sexually Explicit Chats Leaked, Called Himself 'Carlos Danger'

When Anthony Weiner decided to return to politics and run for mayor of New York City he was hoping to move forward from the sex scandal that forced him to resign from Congress. The Dirty, an online gossip site, posted transcripts of a chat between Weiner and an anonymous woman, according to USA Today.

The chats took place after Weiner resigned from Congress for sending lewd photos out over Twitter. The Dirty says that the exchange between Weiner and their source went through August 2012, according to CBS News.

"Anthony Weiner is up to his old tricks again," a statement on The Dirty said. "I've been in contact with a young female girl who wishes to remain Anonymous. She was lured by Anthony Weiner post scandal via Facebook. They had a relationship for 6 months and she believed they were in love."

Since starting his political comeback Weiner has acknowledged that there was a possibility of sexually inappropriate chats or photos from his past being leaked to the press.

"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," Weiner said in a statement. "These things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress."

While exchanging explicit messages with the unidentified woman Weiner used the screen name "Carlos Danger." In addition to the steamy messages Weiner also appeared to promise the anonymous woman some help getting a job blogging for Politico, according to the New York Daily News.

It remains to be seen if this will hurt Weiner's chances in the mayoral election. In a recent poll by The New York Times Weiner was trailing frontrunner Christine Quinn by 9 points.

Judging by the statement released by the Weiner campaign it appears as if there are no plans on letting this latest scandal derail the campaign.

"While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong," Weiner said in the statement. "This behavior is behind me. I've apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward."
