One Direction 'Best Song Ever' Video: Band Breaks Vevo Record With New Single (WATCH)

Does One Direction's new single, "Best Song Ever," have the best video ever? That's up to you to decide, but the brand new video is breaking records.

The clip broke a Vevo record for getting the most views in 24 hours. With 10.9 million views, "Best Song Ever" beat out Miley Cyrus' over-the-top video for "We Can't Stop," which had 10.7 million hits by the end of its first day online.

"Thank you so much guys for making #BestSongEver the most viewed video EVER over 24 hours on vevo! Legends!" tweeted blonde band member Niall Horan. "#bestfansintheworld #crazymofos! You have no idea what u have done! Changed all of our lives," he added later.

"Best Song Ever" is a totally different video for the boys, who have stuck to running on the beach, chilling by the pool and just looking cute for the cameras in previous clips.

In this one, the guys get theatrical, taking on completely different roles—and completely different looks.

Horan and Louis Tomlinson play Hollywood execs trying to pitch a new One Direction image. Harry Styles, who ditches his typical bad boy image for nerd glasses and a slicked-back 'do plays marketing director Marcel. Liam Payne plays the excitable choreographer, Leeroy, and Zayn Malik makes the biggest transition of all as "the sexy (female!) assistant."

The song is 1D's newest promotional single for their new 3D concert movie, "This Is Us," which is set to hit theaters August 30. The flick follows the boys on a world tour and also gives fans a glimpse at the groups' home movies.

In addition to breaking the Vevo record, One Direction hit another milestone this week: They celebrated three years together as a band!

"3 years.. I honestly can't believe it. Thank you so much for everything," Styles said in a Twitter message to the fans. "We're so lucky to have you. You keep making it more and more fun."
