Kirstie Alley and John Travolta Reunite In New TV Land Sitcom

Nearly 25 years after starring together in the '80s comedy "Look Who's Talking," Kirstie Alley and John Travolta are reuniting for a new sitcom on TV Land.

According to a TV Land press release, the "Grease" actor will join the cast of Alley's new comedy "Kirstie," which is set to premiere at the end of this year.

"I'm excited about working with Kirstie again, in addition to such terrific talent on the show," Travolta said in a statement. "It's always a treat to be surrounded by people you respect so much both personally and professionally."

"John Travolta is gonna be on our new show KIRSTIE!!!!!!" Alley excitedly tweeted about the news. "SOOO excited to work together again!!! We are gonna have a BALL!! @tvland!!"

The show will also star Alley's former "Cheers" co-star Rhea Perlman and Seinfeld alum Michael Richards. According to E! News, "Kirstie," which is executive produced by Alley herself, focuses on her character Madison Banks; a Broadway actress. The plot ensues when Banks' son shows up in her life years after she gave him up for adoption.

Travolta is reportedly set to play a Broadway stagehand that hooks up with Alley's character in a steamy one-night stand, but then realizes he wants more. Alley and Travolta are longtime friends and are both members of the Church of Scientology. Alley recently made headlines for the religious connection when she was accused of criticizing actress Leah Remini for leaving the church.

"Lying news outlets. I do NOT care what religion ANYONE is or isn't," she tweeted in response to the rumors. "I respect religions & would fight for your freedom as well as mine."

Travolta is set to start filming the new show in August. It debuts Dec. 4.
