An Arizona woman who is charged with manslaughter for the death of a 5-year-old boy is not showing any remorse.
On Feb. 28, 2014, Aaronessa Keaton, 24, was eight months pregnant when the truck she was driving crashed head-on into a pickup truck. A 5-year-old boy was sitting in the back of the pickup and died after the collision due to injures.
Upon hearing the child had died after she was booked into Glendale City Jail on Monday , Keaton told police that "sh-t happens," according to a court document obtained by CBS Arizona affiliate KPHO.
Keaton, who according to toxicology reports had marijuana and Benzodiazepines in her system, was rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section to deliver the baby following the car crash. Her child was born with marijuana and Benzodiazepines in its system.
Phoenix police filed charges against Keaton this January and police were given a warrant for her arrest in February. She was finally booked on Monday after police identified her at a traffic stop.
On top of manslaughter, Keaton has also been charged with five counts of endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Another child was in the backseat of the pickup truck that Keaton hit but survived the crash.
