Wonder Woman: First-Ever Sketch Goes up For Sale on Comic Link (PHOTOS)

Artist H.G. Peter drew the superhero woman in 1941 - the year that the Amazonian warrior princess made her first appearance in a comic book - and the unique artwork was acquired from Peter's estate, Mashable reported.

William Moulston Marston, who was a psychologist and writer, created the well-known character, but it was Peter who brought her to life through his drawings.

According to Comic Link's website, the piece "contains Peter's first sketches of the most popular and enduring female superhero of all ... rendered in what appear to be pencil, ink and crayon."

Pricing for the rare piece of history has not been determined, nor has a sale date.

The intricate sketches are impressive alone, but what is even more of a treat is that the images contain messages written by Peter and Marston.
