‘Game of Thrones’ Season Five RUMORS: Ed Sheeran Could Join Cast in Mystery Role?

Singer Ed Sheeran has won enough awards to fashion his own Valyrian sword. Now, his eyes may be set on the Iron Throne.

The 24-year-old recording artist is reportedly "hounding" HBO brass for a role in television's most ambitious show, "Game of Thrones," according to The Independent.

Sheeran was apparently contacted by the show's producers a few years ago about a possible role (he's a dead ringer for a Greyjoy) but has yet to find the time to get involved. That could be changing some time soon.

"There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it's the time I tour in the UK," Sheeran, who says he is a huge fan of the show, told The Sun, as per The Independent.

Sheeran wouldn't be the first musician to travel to Westeros. Coldplay drummer Will Champion and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody each had cameos in 2013. It also wouldn't be Sheeran's first acting gig. He recently had a brief appearance in the soap drama "Home and Away" and has also appeared on "Sesame Street."

"Game of Thrones" airs on HBO at 9 p.m. EDT every Sunday.
