'Star Wars: Battlefront' Trailer Released at Star Wars Celebration (VIDEO)

This week has been exciting for "Star Wars" fans. Disney and Lucasfilm released the first trailer for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" on Thursday, exciting millions of fans and building a lot of hype for the next film. Adding to that excitement, Electronic Arts released a trailer Thursday for the next installment in the "Star Wars: Battlefront" series.

The new game will be developed by DICE, the company that created the "Battlefield" game series, and will focus on the conflict between the Rebels and the Empire. The game will feature up to 40 players on a battlefield and will contain a variety of vehicles, characters and weapons. Players will be able to reenact battles on Tatooine, Hoth, Endor and (eventually) Jakku, an unexplored world that "The Force Awakens" will feature heavily.

The trailer features a lot of ground combat, with players wielding blasters, driving AT-ATs and calling in bomb strikes. But the game isn't limited to just that. Just as "Battlefront 2" included space-based combat between two factions, so will the upcoming "Battlefront" game. Players will be able to pilot classic "Star Wars" ships, including X-Wings, TIE Fighters and even the Millenium Falcon as they take on their opponents.

The game will also allow you to play as iconic Star Wars characters, such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett.

"You can storm in as the Dark Lord himself," "Battlefront" design director Niklas Fegraeus told AP. "You can wield a lightsaber. You can Force choke the rebel scum, which is fun. Basically, you are the boss of the battle. This means that you, as Vader, can lead your team to victory - if you play well."

While the original "Battlefront" game will contain a variety of planets, Jakku will be a free DLC that releases a few weeks after the game. People who pre-order "Battlefront" will get it on Dec. 1, while everyone else can play it starting Dec. 8.

The new "Battlefront" will be released on Nov. 17 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Watch the trailer below.
