Si Bao, a two-legged stray dog from China, was rescued and is now serving as a global ambassador in the fight against animal cruelty.
The tiny pup, who once spent her days begging for food at a train station, is the new face of Animals Asia's Dr. Dog program - an initiative that provides people in need with a canine friend, showing that dogs are "friends not food," according to an Animals Asia news release.
When Si Bao was a stray hanging out at the train station, she got hit by a train. This accident caused her to lose both of her back legs.
She was later rescued and treated by Animals Asia veterinarians.
During her recovery, Si Bao was showered with love from big-hearted volunteers as well as celebrities, including "Downton Abbey" star Leslie Nicol.
Nicol later gave Si Bao a new name: Lelly.
"Lelly is simply phenomenal - as she determinedly runs both up and down stairs on her two legs and jumps off the bed too! Just like our disabled bears, there's pretty much nothing she can't do and all challenges of life on two legs are there to be conquered," Jill in Sai Kung, who rescued Lelly, said in the news release. "Her best 'trick' is simply to sit and stare with the most beautiful brown melting eyes - like the cat from Shrek - whenever she wants to share my food."
