Hide the snacks because HBO clearly has the munchies.
The network behind such dramatic classics as "The Wire," "The Sopranos" and "Game of Thrones" announced today that it made a six-episode order for the web comedy "High Maintenance." The series follows a Brooklyn weed dealer (Ben Sinclair) with a unique group of clients.
"High Maintenance has proven to be one of today's most highly acclaimed online comedies," said Michael Lombardo, HBO's president of programming. "We are thrilled to bring this sophisticated and clever series to our HBO audience."
The series, which originally aired on Vimeo, also includes comedian Hannibal Buress ("Broad City") and Dan Stevens ("Downton Abbey") in its collection of previous guest stars. Married duo Katja Blichfeld ("30 Rock") and Ben Sinclair ("Sisters," "The Big C") are the creators and writers.
HBO is not only ordering six new episodes but also making the previous 19 episodes available later this year across all of their platforms (HBO, HBO Now and HBO Go).
