‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff ‘Better Call Saul’ Star Bob Odenkirk Hints at ‘Good Times’ in Season Two

One of the best things about AMC's "Better Call Saul" was that you didn't have to have seen "Breaking Bad" to enjoy and appreciate it. While some of the visual cues and characters may have been familiar, the tone and story were completely unique. "Saul" was its own distinct show and its first season was a big success as a result.

But now fans are eager for the second season, and star Bob Odenkirk dropped a little hint as to what we should expect in an interview with TV Insider.

"I don't know what's going to happen, but based on the very brief and very general conversations I've had with Vince [Gilligan] and Peter [Gould], I think Jimmy's got some ups coming his way and some good times, which could be fun to watch," Odenkirk said.

What are these "ups" and "good times" he speaks of?

As fans saw in the season one finale, Jimmy McGill seems to have let go of his moral objections. Does this development and Odenkirk's comments mean that Jimmy will be Saul Goodman by the time season two opens? Or is Jimmy enjoying more success in his personal life, perhaps developing his relationship with Kim Wexler?

Either way, it will be interesting to see the show make a bit of a 180 with Jimmy's character. Much of the first season focused on his struggles to get ahead in this world while towing the ethical and legal line. His unhappiness with his lot in life was one of his core defining characteristics. Reversing that trend and enabling Jimmy to find some happiness will no doubt put a smile on the faces of viewers, but it will also raise the important question of how he obtained that happiness. We know Slippin' Jimmy is already headed down a slippery slope. How far along he is on that path remains to be seen.

Season two of "Better Call Saul" will debut in early 2016.
