"Star Wars: Episode VII" buzz was all over Comic-Con last week, as every reporter was trying to get the scoop out of former cast members of the franchise; this leaves me with one question, is Disney holding out information for annual D23 Expo?
The D23 Expo is scheduled for August 9-11 in Anaheim, and rumors are spreading that Disney is beginning to court actors for the new film.
According to the Latino Review, "Star Wars: Episode VII" will continue where Episode VI: Return of the Jedi left off. Production for the seventh "Star Wars" film is set to begin next year, so who is Disney casting for the movie?!
"About a two months ago my source informed me that they were going to start filming in Pinewood, but I really never paid any mind to it and now it ends up being true that they will indeed film there," the Latino Review wrote. "I was also told that a majorfilm star went in for a meeting, that star was Leo DiCaprio. And now I'm told that he's out."
Since DiCaprio is allegedly out, who are filmmakers looking out? According to the Latino Review, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron.
What Efron's potential role in the film is unknown, but executives are allegedly looking at Gosling to be Luke Skywalker's son.
I am having a difficult time imagining either of the actors in the "Star Wars" franchise, but J.J. Abrams is a visionary; if Abrams believes they will make a great addition to the cast, then I won't jump to conclusions until I see the film.
"Star Wars" very own Harrison Ford, better known as Han Solo, spoke highly of the director during San Diego Comic-Con.
"I think [Abrams]'s a great storyteller," Ford told MTV Geek when asked about the director's involvement in the famous franchise. "He's developed an enormous filmmaking skill. I think it's a daunting project and he's the kind of guy that can take on huge challenges and deliver... He's an awful nice guy."
