The city that holds the Guinness World Record for having the largest collection of dinosaur fossils is staying true to its name.
Construction workers in Heyuan, China discovered 43 dinosaur eggs earlier this month in the city where more than 13,000 eggs and other artifacts have been discovered over the past 20 years, according to The Telegraph.
Local archaeologist Du Yanli said that of the 43 eggs, 19 are still in good condition. The largest egg had a diameter of 5.2 inches, The Telegraph reported.
Heyuan's reputation as a hotbed for dinosaur artifacts began in 1995 when a handful of children came across stones at a construction site.
Upon investigation, it turned out the stones were fossilized dinosaur eggs. Footprints and fossilized dinosaur skeletons have also been discovered in the city.
Because of its reputation, Heyuan has a dinosaur theme park and museum. However, The Telegraph reports that even though it is filled with rare artifacts, it is not a main attraction for tourists.
