Zayn Malik Reportedly Sees Movies as Next Direction

Zayn Malik, the former One Direction band member who quit the group last March, is reportedly in talks with a film director for a possible movie project.

Malik recently met with director Gurinder Chadha, who confirmed that they have indeed talked, according to The Guardian. Chadha is the director of films like "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Bride and Prejudice." She and the 22-year-old teen idol were both seen attending the Asian Awards last April 17.

Chadha said that it looks like Malik, who was trained as an actor first before joining the band in 2011, has every intention to do what's "true to his heart." But the director admitted that she has no particular role for the former boy band member yet. She's not disclosing the possibility of working with Malik in the future.

In a previous interview, Malik has confessed his love for Bollywood films. According to Mirror, he started enjoying these films when he was 10 years old. He also admitted that he has learn to woo women because of "Bombay," his favorite Bollywood movie. "I was a lover boy around the age of ten. I always had an idea from an early age what it was like to be in love - it was only later I figured it out!" said Malik in the report.

The singer is engaged to Perrie Edwards of the girl group Little Mix. Their relationship, which started in 2011, has been the subject of controversy in the last few months, after a photo of Zayn with a different girl circulated online. The pressure of being scrutinized in public has pushed him to quit his world-famous group.

Since leaving One Direction, Malik said that he's doing alright. He's been spending his time in a studio to relax with music. According to friends like music producer Naught Boy, it's something that he hasn't done in years, Mirror reported.

Malik thrilled his fans recently when he re-emerged on Twitter after a month-long silence.
