There is only one more week until "Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits American theaters. You may now take one minute to do the Happy Dance.
...
Done? Good. Now watch this.
In all of the pre-hype promotion for "Ultron" director Joss Whedon has purposely kept the lid (mostly) on The Vision (Paul Bettany). But now fans can see the birth of the character in the above clip and the initial reactions from several members of the Avengers. Bewildered confusion is probably the same reaction I would have if a purple-skinned android came forth from an ominous glowing machine.
Vision is rumored to be created by Ultron in the film to help in his battle against the Avengers. He is also rumored to have some ties to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Interesting.
"The flipside of that bad guy, Ultron, is Vision," Bettany said. "They're sort of two sides of the same coin, really. There is a link between JARVIS, who I used to play and still play in this movie, and the Vision, but I'm not allowed to say what it is."
JARVIS is the British artificial intelligence servant that Tony Stark exchanges witty banter with throughout the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bettany has voiced Iron Man's technological partner in crime since the MCU's debut in 2008.
The clip reveals that Vision has the power of flight. His abilities from the comics go way beyond on that, though, so fans are likely hoping his full arsenal of powers is on display in the movie.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will in theaters on May 1.
