In conjunction with NASA celebrations on the east coast, Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, Calif., will pay tribute to the Hubble Space Telescope's 25th anniversary with events that highlight its groundbreaking achievements. Hubble was launched on April 24, 1990, aboard the space shuttle Discovery. In its quarter-century in orbit, Hubble has transformed our understanding of our solar system, our galaxy and the universe.
All activities are free and open to the public except Monday's "Hubble's Legacy" -- Friends Of The Observatory Cosmic Musings Event. Griffith Observatory is located 1,134 feet above sea level on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, Calif. All times listed below are Pacific Daylight Time.
