Indiana High School Stage Collapses During Musical Finale, 12 Injured [VIDEO]

A stage collapse during the finale of a musical performance at Westfield High School in Indiana on Thursday left 12 students injured.

According to Yahoo, the incident, which was caught on film, happened during a show called "American Pie." At the time of the collapse the students were performing Journey's "Don't Stop Believin."

Westfield Police Department Captain Charles Hollowell said during a press conference that, despite conflicting reports, none of the students involved in the collapse are in critical condition and none received life-threatening injuries.

A student who was singing at the edge of the stage and not involved in the collapse was in shock long after the incident occurred.

"The microphone wasn't out of my hand until half an hour later because I was in shock, basically," Nicole Gruszka said. "We thought that the worst that could happen would be that someone would miss their cue."

This is not the first time Indiana has had to deal with a stage collapse, according to Yahoo. In 2011, seven people were killed when a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair.

"The word 'stage collapse,' you know, here in Indiana has a special connotation to it, so, yes, I was very, very concerned when I saw that word on our dispatch," Westfield Mayor Andy Cook said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
