Audience members who attended Stephen Hawking's talk on the mysteries of the universe and the future of our planet at the Sydney Opera last Saturday did not just witness a 3-D hologram of the Cambridge University physicist and professor. They were also treated to a genius response when Hwaking was asked about his thoughts on Zayn Malik leaving One Direction.
Time reported that a member from the audience asked, "What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?"
To this, the professor responded, "Finally, a question about something important."
Hawking said that girls should stop being heartbroken and instead should read studies on theoretical physics, because one day there will be proof of multiple universes. By then, it will be possible that there is a different universe where Malik is still in One Direction.
Just like that, people witnessed that Hawking is also a genius even in the subject of love and broken hearts.
Other matters were also discussed; Hawking was also able to share his insights on the movie "The Theory of Everything" in which he was portrayed by Eddie Redmayne.
Hawking ended his talk by saying, "Now beam me up, Scotty," a quote from the famous Star Trek character Captain Kirk. After saying the line, his hologram exploded in a beam of light.
