Bruce Jenner's ex-wives Linda Thompson and Chrystie Crownover have both poured their hearts out to the American public after the big reveal that their ex-husband really "has a heart of a woman."
In this morning's edition of "Good Morning America" it was Crownover, Jenner's first wife, who faced the cameras and told the public that she was the first to know about his true identity.
Crownover told "GMA" that this happened early on their marriage, but he did not pursue the issue and instead focused his energies on being the decathlon champion in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. The two were married from 1972 until 1981 and had two children together, Burt and Casey.
She said that "I know it's been a torment in his life," Us Weekly reported.
Meanwhile, Jenner's second ex-wife Linda Thompson had her own revelations via an essay that was featured exclusively on Huffington Post.
Thompson said that after Jenner told her that he wanted to come out as a woman she could not help but point it out to their children, Brandon and Brody. She recalled that he thought he could re-enter their son's lives as "Aunt Heather."
Back then, Thompson wrote, Jenner had plans to travel to Denmark to have the gender-confirmation surgery. After his divorce from Thompson, he entered another relationship and married Kris Kardashian. Kardashian divorced him early this year and has kept silent on his recent transformation and coming out.
It took Jenner another 24 years before he came out as transgender. He told Dianne Sawyer that he is a woman in all aspects, in mind and heart. Explaining that he did not have a gay relationship, he said he just feels compelled to change and complete his look as a woman, which explains his several dermatological surgeries of late, especially his tracheal shave that reduced the visibility and size of his Adam's apple.
