As fans wait for the fall premiere date of Showtime's hit espionage thriller "Homeland," little details about the show are finally starting to be revealed.
According to Fashion and Style, producer Howard Gordon released details about what viewers can expect with the complicated relationship of Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody (Damian Lewis). Carrie, a CSI agent, has been in a roller-coaster affair with her target Brody after he returns from a military tour overseas where he was presumed dead.
At the end of the second season, fans watched as Carrie helped Brody sneak out of the country. Brody is now a wanted man for terrorism.
For a change, Gordon said season three will see Carrie and Brody apart, which he said has a significant effect on the storyline.
"It's a question in a way even though their lives are adjacent they're very connected still. You feel the gravitational pull of the relationship even though they may not be in the same physical space," Gordon told TV Fanatic.
Alex Gansa, a producer for the show, also gave a sneak peek to ABC's "This Week."
"The issue in this season is, what happens if it were learned that a major attack on the United States was sponsored by a state? These are the big concerns that we're going to deal with in the first sweep of episodes," Gansa said. "And then there's the big question about, you know, where Brody is?"
He said the season will also focus on if anybody knows Carrie helped Brody escape and if they will ever see each other again. He added that there are definitely more surprises in store but viewers will have to wait until Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. to find out what else will go on in the season.
