PATA SignsTeams Up With TripAdvisor

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has signed on travel website giant TripAdvisor as its new strategic partner.

TripAdvisor has earned itself the title of the world's largest online travel community, getting more than 60 million unique monthly visitors and having customized sites in 30 countries worldwide.

PATA announced Thursday that it signed on TripAdvisor as its new strategic partner. The two look to collaborate on joint initiatives such as surveys, reports and data sharing.

"Our strategic partnership with TripAdvisor will benefit all our members and give TripAdvisor invaluable insight and access as it expands its engagement across the Asia Pacific travel world," PATA CEO Mr. Martin J. Craigs, said. "PATA will work with TripAdvisor to add real value and insights for the benefit of both partners. The world is going digital, mobile, and more consumer direct. TripAdvisor will help PATA Next Gen stay at the cutting edge of travel industry engagement."

"We are excited to be partnering with PATA, a leading tourism and travel authority in the region," Cindy Tan, Vice President of Display Advertising Sales, Asia Pacific at TripAdvisor said. "With more than 75 million reviews and opinions on more than 1.8 million hospitality businesses, TripAdvisor is more than equipped to share valuable insights for travelers as well as hospitality businesses that are part of PATA."

Other travel areas the two companies look to explore together include publishing, research, surveys, events and advocacy. PATAmPOWER, the association's mobile travel intelligence service for members will contain most of TripAdvisor's data and insights.
