Two-Way Mirror Found in Ladies Room At Chicago Eatery; Owner Refuses To Remove It

The owner of bar and barbecue lounge Cigars and Stripes in suburban Chicago is refusing to remove a two-way mirror that was discovered in his establishment's ladies bathroom.

In a story first reported by Jezebel, a comedienne named Tamale Rocks tipped the feminist site about the bar's unusual bathroom mirror. Rocks showed that the mirror was set up on a door that is directly facing the toilet where the ladies do their business. But when she proceeded to check what was behind the door, she was surprised to find that the full-length mirror is actually two-way. Anyone standing behind it has a clear view of the what's going on in the bathroom side.

Jezebel reached out to the bar owner, Ronnie Lotz, who confirmed that the mirror has been there since 2001. When pressed about removing it, Lotz told off Jezebel.

"I will burn this f*king place to the ground before I get rid of that mirror. Do you know how much joy that mirror has brought to us? We're synonymous with Halloween. We do a freaky family fun day, and all the kids look in the mirror. This is a fun house, honey, and if you don't like the two-way mirror, go f*k yourself," he said in a phone conversation.

Lotz also told reporters on Monday evening that the mirror isn't going to be taken down and has even invited people to go check the bathroom out for themselves.

"I put a lot of heart and soul into this business, and I am sorry to tell you this, but there is no hanky panky going on in that bathroom," he said via NBC Chicago. The news also reported that women who frequent the bar do not know it is a two-way mirror. Some male patrons, however, see no issue with it.

Police in the Berwyn district of Chicago are said to be doing an investigation.Take a look at the video of Rocks has posted on her YouTube account:
