Bruce Jenner: ‘Star Trek’ Actress Alice Eve Deletes Transphobic Instagram Rant

Many have supported Bruce Jenner "coming out" as transgender, but Alice Eve went the other way, accusing the former Olympian's transition of "playing at being a woman."

The "Star Trek" actress sparked controversy with her Instagram post late Sunday night and eventually deleted the post from her profile on Tuesday. Eve railed against Jenner's transition as an affront to women who have suffered for equal rights in sports and in the workforce.

"If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can't compete in the decathlon," Eve wrote in the post, according to BBC News. "You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn't given a chance.

Only men can compete in the Olympics decathlon. Women usually compete in a heptathlon, which consists of seven events rather than 10.

Eve continued, "Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a 'woman' while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair... Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman."

The 33-year-old actress tried to explain her thought process in a follow up post, but only dug herself a deeper hole. She deleted this post as well.

"I do agree that the struggle for transgenders is unique and horrific. However, I do want to also support a cause I strongly believe in, the right for women to have equal rights to men," she wrote. "The transgender equality struggle is the next one, as we all know. And very real it is, too."

Even then posted two more posts on Instagram supporting equal rights for women and those exploring gender identity.

Jenner admitted he was undergoing gender reassignment surgery during an interview with Diane Sawyer on April 24. The reality star has given permission for everyone to continue using male pronouns until his transition is complete.
