Marvel will premiere two movies between "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2," but production on the two-part movie will film consecutively.
"Captain America" star Chris Evans told Esquire that the third and fourth "Avengers" movies will film back to back starting in late 2016. Anthony and Joe Russo will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to direct both parts.
"You plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to," Evans said. "We start the 'Infinity War,' I think, sometime in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That's going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back."
The 33-year-old actor and the Russo brothers will first shoot "Captain America: Civil War," which will feature Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and introduce Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. "Civil War" production starts in a couple weeks and will wrap in August.
"Then I've got some downtime and I can do with it as I please," Evans told Esquire. "I don't know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I'm creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life."
"Avengers: Infinity War" will follow Earth's Mightiest Heroes as they battle against the mighty Thanos. The titan leader first appeared in "The Avengers" and played a bigger role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as he pursued capturing all six Infinity Stones to complete the Infinity Gauntlet.
So far, the MCU films have revealed the Space, Mind and Power stones as well as the Aether. The Infinity Gauntlet was briefly seen in "Thor."
Marvel has not confirmed which of its heroes will appear in "Infinity War," although Evans comments would seem to confirm his Captain America will appear. He will have at least one MCU movie left on his contract after "Civil War," but it's unclear if "Infinity War" would count as one or two movies.
