"The Voice" performers could only sit back and wait for the final vote tally on Tuesday after each of the Top 8 gave outstanding performances the previous night.
Joshua Davis was able to breath a huge sigh of relief when he heard his named called first for reaching the Top 6. He survived last week only after receiving the instant Twitter save. Davis is the final contestant for Team Adam.
Sawyer Fredericks of Team Pharrell also heard his name next followed by Meghan Linsey for Team Blake, Kimberly Nichole for Team Christina and Koryn Hawthorne for Team Pharrell.
That left Cory Kent White and Hannah Kirby, both of Team Blake, to battle for this week's instant Twitter save along with Team Christina's India Carney, who rounded out the bottom three.
Kirby chose "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons as her last attempt for a save. White went with Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You," while Carney chose "Human" by Christina Perri.
Blake Shelton pleaded for his two performers, but he quickly lost Kirby and White. Carney received the prized Twitter save.
The final tally leaves Team Blake and Adam with only one dog left in the fight. Team Christina and Pharrell stand a better chance of crowning a winner with two performers left.
The tables have quickly turned, especially for Shelton who pointed out last week that Levine was only one team away from not having to come to work anymore. He now finds himself in the same boat.
As for eliminated performers Kirby and White, they both are looking forward to their next venture and appreciate what opportunities "The Voice" gave to them.
"I'm going to miss the performances and all of the full staging, the way that I dreamed about all my life," Kirby told Headlines & Global News exclusively.
The Texas native plans to complete an album she had started before securing a spot on "The Voice."
"I'm going to try and pick that back up," she said. "I am looking forward to finishing the album. Before I was limiting myself and the music I've gotten to do on the show is the kind I wanted to do my whole life. Going back to that album I'm going to do it the way I always dreamed without doubting myself."
In addition to gaining a new sense of confidence, the singing competition also presented a host of new opportunities and Kirby is thankful for all the support she has received.
"The show is an amazing beginning for all of us," she said. "We've gotten exposure that she couldn't get anywhere else. I'm just thankful for the time I've had here."
White always dreamed of having a career in country music, and "The Voice" has put him on the edge of achieving that dream.
"For me the goal has always been the same and that's to have a country music career," White told HNGN. "I'm so thankful that 'The Voice' came along because it sped up the process so much and was a fast-track to that."
Like Kirby, White appreciates the doors that the show has opened and he looks forward to honing his songwriting skills, but in retrospect, he can't believe what he's been able to accomplish on the show.
"I never thought I'd get to work with people like Reba McEntire, Scott Hendricks or Blake Shelton when I was 20 years old," he beamed. "I also never thought I'd see myself on the country charts at 20, so this has been an unbelievable experience and I'm so thankful for it.
He added, "The show exposed me to a whole new fan base and you hope those fans move with you from the show to your career."
'The Voice' Top 6 will return to the stage next Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
