Hudson River Body Found Identified As Best Man, Mark Lennon, in Deadly Bridal Party Boat Crash

The body of the best man killed when a boat crashed carrying a bridal party was pulled from the Hudson River on Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.

A Jet skier on the river saw the body of Mark Lennon, 30, about 11 a.m. on Sunday. Lennon was supposed to be the best man in the wedding of Lindsey Stewart and Brian Bond in two weeks.

"[The body was] a mile downstream from where bride-to-be Lindsey Stewart's body was found after the speedboat collided with a construction barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge on Friday night," the Daily News reports.

Authorities said the skipper handling the boat had prior drug arrests.

Stewart's husband-to-be, Brian Bond, 35, suffered a fractured eye socket in the crash, was reportedly inconsolable when he heard the new of his fiancé's death.

"There's no words. What could he say? He just broke down," Rev. David Lothrop, who accompanied the officers to Westchester Medical Center, where Bond will have surgery Monday, told the Daily News.

The Lennon family is also mourning the loss of their loved one.

"Nothing but time will heal this, and I don't think it will ever be forgotten," Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco told the Daily News.

Lennon's family described him as a lover of the outdoors, a happy guy who would want them to celebrate the life he lived.

"He's at peace," his mother, Dympna Lennon, told The Journal News. "He was a very joyous, happy person, and he'd want us to celebrate his life, and that's what we are going to do."

The skipper of the 19-foot Stingray bowrider, Jojo John, 35, of Nyack, N.Y., was charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault, the Daily News reports.

Authorities said John was intoxicated while handling the boat.
