Poland's Idea Bank wants to bring the bank to your car by turning BMW i3s into ATMs.
Four of these cars are currently roaming the streets of Warsaw as part of Idea Bank's feasibility study on the effectiveness of the mobile service. The goal of the project is to provide a more convenient experience for bank users.
"Entrepreneurs who personally deliver their income to the bank or stationary CDM waste both their time and money. Our service aims at lifting that weight off their shoulders," said Dominik Fajbusiewicz, board member of Idea Bank, according to NDTV.
The mobile ATM will only work with the Idea Bank Money Collection app, which can be downloaded via the App Store and Google Play. All you have to do is send a request, and the driver will bring the ATM to you. Other than getting the driver to your place, the car functions the same as any other regular ATM.
BMW said on its website that the BMW i3 is a design that defines the automobile of tomorrow. The car has an eDrive power train that is said to be the product of the company's EfficientDynamics technology. The i3 is not only emission-free, but it also offers a near-silent driving experience.
Idea Bank plans to bring the service to other cities across Poland and then possibly to other countries if it proves to be a success.
