Royal Baby Nickname: What Prince Charles Says Prince George Will Be Called 'In No Time'

"Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge" can be quite a mouthful, which is why Prince Charles has already given his newborn grandson a nickname.

While attending the Whitstable Oyster Festival in Kent, England with wife Camilla, Prince Charles noted the baby Cambridge's full title is a "very good name," but that he will be called "Georgie in no time."

It's no surprise that Prince Charles has given the royal baby such a sweet nickname, as he has already become a very doting grandparent.

"Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild," Prince Charles said following Prince George's birth on July 22. "It's an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time."

Prince Charles was among the few guests to visit the royal couple in the hospital, and has not stopped gushing since.

A festival attendee told Us Weekly that he briefly spoke to Prince Charles, who said he;s "pleased as punch" over the new arrival. He also noted that little Georgie is "very loud," a sentiment that dad Prince William also echoed when he first left the hospital, sharing that his son had "a good pair of lungs on him."

While the world may now know the future king's nickname, no one has yet to find out for sure why he was given his full royal moniker.

Reports have speculated that the Prince of Cambridge is named after Queen Elizabeth's father, or the late Princess Diana's three nephews: George, Alexander and Louis.

"With George we have a traditional, classic name with historical connotations," royal biographer and historian Christopher Warwick told E! News. "It might not be too imaginative, but it isn't too surprising."
