Kidd Kraddick Dead Update: Cause of Death Revealed For Popular Radio Host

A cause of death has been released for popular radio personality Kidd Kraddick, who died suddenly on July 27 at a charity golf event in New Orleans.

According to the Dallas Morning News, autopsy reports show that the 53-year-old was suffering from heart disease and passed away when his heart became enlarged.

"You have several vessels, and three were diseased, the worst of which was 80% blocked," deputy coroner Granville Morse told the News. Morse explained that it was the combined cardiac disease and enlarged heart that likely caused a fatally irregular heartbeat.

"What happens is your heart goes into a non-perfusable rhythm," Morse said. "In English that means: imagine you turned off the faucet for the blood to go back to the brain. It not only doesn't get to the brain, but it doesn't get to the heart. Both stop working simultaneously."

These statements are based on preliminary observations and the full autopsy report will not be completed until toxicology tests are performed later in the week.

Kraddick was well known as the host of the Dallas-based radio program "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning," which was syndicated to nearly 75 stations. He was also known for his charity work. When he died, Kraddick was attending a charity golf tournament for his Kidd's Kids Foundation that raised money for terminally ill children to travel to Disney World.

"We're just beyond devastated," Kraddick's co-host Kellie Rasberry said on air following the sad news. "This was such a shock to everyone... I love him, and I'm not saying love in the past tense. I'm really just heartbroken."

"Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" is currently on a one-week hiatus. After that, it is unclear how the show will continue.
