The stepchildren of the woman killed in the car accident involving Bruce Jenner are suing him for wrongful death.
The two adult stepchildren of Kim Howe filed a lawsuit that claims Jenner was "careless and negligent" when his car slammed into Howe's Lexus, sending her into the path of an oncoming Hummer and killing her, according to TMZ. The accident occurred in February on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Law enforcement has said that video of the crash would find Jenner at fault for not paying attention while driving his large SUV. The lawsuit claims the former Olympian was speeding, but law enforcement reported that he was actually traveling under the speed limit at the time of the crash.
The two stepchildren may find it hard to collect on any damages given their nearly non-existent relationship with the deceased. They are claiming loss of affection, but close friends of Howe have said "there was no affection at all," TMZ reported. She also had no other living relatives.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the crash. Law enforcement will send over the completed report to the Los Angeles County D.A. for possible prosecution, although it's unlikely the prosecutors will file.
