Call it the 10 finger discount.
British twin sisters were busted in a scheme where they used their identical looks to distract and steal nearly $1,500 worth of food and alcohol, the Western Daily Press reported.
Penelope Harris and her sister, Constance, were jailed for 14 weeks and 18 weeks, respectively, for the series of food thefts prosecutors said took place at several U.K. supermarkets in February and March.
Wearing the same clothes, prosecutors say the 25-year-old twins entered the market and got separate shopping carts. One would buy modest items while the other stocked up on booze and food before walking out the store without paying.
But staff and security cameras would think the same customer was still inside shopping.
"They have both made full admissions to working as a team in order to raise funds to support their habits of street drugs to buy food," said Prosecutor Alison May, the Western Daily Press reported.
The sisters targeted grocery stores like Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Coop stores. They were also heard coordinating ways to distract staff while one of them walked out with a shopping cart full of food and alcohol.
Both Harris' pleaded guilty to the charges and will also have to pay compensation to Marks & Spencer and legal fees.
