Blues legend B.B. King is currently in home hospice care because of serious health problems.
A May 1 message on his website read: "I am in hospice care at my residence in Las Vegas. Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers."
The 89-year-old musician was hospitalized last Thursday. Las Vegas police officer Jesse Roybal said that a domestic dispute over the singer's medical care occurred in his Las Vegas home, and that an ambulance was then summoned soon after, according to Fox News. No arrests were made, and no criminal complaints were filed.
Paramedics checked King's heart rhythm before he was treated at the hospital for complications of high blood pressure and diabetes, said Laverne Toney, King's longtime business manager and current power-of-attorney.
In an earlier CNN report, the musician's daughter, Patty King, said that he was not eating and was dehydrated, and that he might have suffered a minor heart attack.
"Mr. King is where he wishes to be," Toney said. "He's told me he doesn't want to be in a hospital. He wants to be at home."
King also spent some time in the hospital in early April for dehydration caused by his Type II diabetes, making this instance his second hospitalization in a month. He posted a similar message for his fans when he returned home on April 7. In October 2014, King cancelled the final shows of his tour after he fell ill in Chicago.
King, who released over 50 million albums and sold millions of records worldwide, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and is considered as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. His popular hits include "Every Day I Have the Blues," "When Love Comes to Town," and "The Thrill is Gone."
