Chad L. Coleman - the actor who famously played Tyreese on "The Walking Dead" and Cutty on "The Wire" - had a meltdown Friday on a NYC subway train, and the entire episode was recorded on a passenger's cell phone camera (and quickly went viral).
"I want to know where my humanitarians are!" he yelled repeatedly.
"Yes, I'm Chad L. Coleman! I'm on 'The Wire,' 'The Walking Dead!' If you care, f---ing care! If you need to write about it, if you need to record it, get your phone out. And when you record what I said, tell me what the f--- you exposed: Nothing but the truth!"
The actor blamed his three-minute rant Friday on "built-up frustration" caused by Freddie Gray's death in Baltimore and insisted he wasn't boozed up, according to Us Weekly.
Coleman reportedly went ballistic when he overheard a passenger refer to him by using the N-word. The man told his friend, "No, we don't know that n----r," when she said she recognized him.
He admitted that he couldn't control his anger at the time, and he wished to apologize to his family and to the cast of "The Walking Dead."
Subway riders pictured in the video were clearly afraid of him due to his loud voice, and the seats shown beside him were empty after passengers switched seats or stood up.
TWD producer and writer Scott M. Gimple, for one, voiced his support for the star, tweeting on May 2: "Being made 2 feel less can set us off in ways we might regret/But asking people where the humanitarian is in them isn't such a bad question."
