Things aren't going too well for Sam Smith. The "Lay Me Down" singer has cancelled more tour dates due to a hemorrhage to his vocal cords.
The Grammy-winner announced on Monday that his shows scheduled for May 7 and May 8 in Japan and May 10 in the Philippines would have to be rescheduled due to complications with his vocal chords. Smith reportedly has plans to see a specialist for medical treatment, ABC News reports.
"Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates," he captioned an Instagram picture that shows the singer sitting with his back facing the sea. "I've just left Australia and I'm on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there... This is f------g horrid."
Last week, Smith announced the cancellation of his Australian tour. In an Instagram post, he wrote, "doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed otherwise this could become a long-term issue. I am so sorry to all who have bought tickets, I truly am."
A few days later Smith updated fans on his condition, writing, "I haven't spoken a word in three days. Trying my absolute best to be back on my feet and singing for next week. So amazing to have this time to turn off, but it does make me realize how much I love what I do, and how much I miss you all when I'm not on stage."
Smith's next scheduled performance will be at the Hangout Festival in Alabama on May 15. - Here's hoping he pulls through.
