Her vocals have been compared to the likes of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and now Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande is previewing a snippet of a new song off her forthcoming debut album, a sparkling pop jam called "Piano," and you can listen to a sneak peek here!
MTV reportst that Grande has already smashed the charts with her Mac Miller-assisted R&B jam "The Way" and her latest single, "Baby I," which she has been spotted filming a '90s-themed music video for. Fans are ever anxious for new music from the "Sam & Cat" star off of her upcoming album, entitled "Yours Truly," set to hit stores Sept. 3.
Although she only posted 15 seconds from "Piano" to her Instagram, MTV's Buzzworthy thinks it sounds like a "real game-changer" already, featuring Grande's Mariah Carey-inspired melisma and crazy vocal range.
"For those of you who don't know, every few days from now until my album release I'll be posting snippets of each song to introduce the album to you song by song," Grande wrote along with the snippet. "Not posting them in any particular order or in the order of the track list but I decided to start with this 1. Here's the first snippet. I know it's a pop record but I love that it has some strings in it. Hope you enjoy the first of many of these clips."
It's a great way to keep up the hype surrounding her new music, especially since Grande is fairly new to the pop game, even though she's been recording and releasing songs for years now, including covers of hits like Bruno Mars' "Grenade" and her her bubbly pop track "Put Your Hearts Up," which she released a fairy tale-esque video for last year.
