Royal Family: Prince Harry Greets Crowd in Sydney, Australia Outside the Opera House (PHOTOS)

Prince Harry created quite the frenzy as he met Sydneysiders on Thursday, according to ABC News Sydney. The "spare heir," recently bumped down another rung by the birth of his niece, Princess Charlotte, greeted children, war veterans and teenagers holding signs - some said, "Gingers rule" and others proclaimed Harry "His Royal Hotness." Before the meet-and-greet on the Opera House steps, the prince participated in a Sydney Harbor training mission.

The 30-year-old prince was approached by many star-struck teens. One fan waited four hours for a selfie with Prince Harry. "I wanted one really badly and I was like 'can I take a selfie with you?' and he said 'no, I don't do selfies' and so I got my friend to take one for me and I took one for her," Elizabeth Stanley told ABC News Sydney. "It was a really special moment and not something you think will happen, and I'll hopefully remember it forever."

Dressed in a sequined Australian flag mini dress and tiara, 21-year-old Victoria McRae held a sign that asked the prince to marry her. The prince told McRae he would have to get back to her, according to the Daily Mail, so McRae asked for a kiss while he pondered the proposal. "He let me kiss him on the cheek but then I went in for it. The rest was history," McRae said, according to the Daily Mail. "It was amazing, it's meant to be, there's a lot of chemistry there I'd say."

"I said I'd proposed twice before, that it was my third time lucky, and my sign said last chance so I said have a think about it," McRae said, according to the Daily Mail.

Prince Harry greeted royal fans for about an hour. He then went to western Sydney's Macquarie University Clinic to meet a British soldier who is receiving specialist treatment after losing both of his legs in Afghanistan in 2011. Later, he told reporters at a press conference that he didn't want to leave Australia. He also said he was shocked at the day's turn out. "I didn't expect that many people to come out," Prince Harry said, according to News Corp Australia. "I actually thought when we were going to turn up there would only be about ten people there.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to them (the regiment)," the prince continued, according to News Corp Australia. "They have made me feel so at home here that its going to be hard to leave. I don't want to go home, I want to stay here."

When the redheaded bachelor was asked at the press conference about the kiss stolen by royal fan McRae, the prince jokingly replied: "I got more than one kiss."
